NCR Counterpoint Credit Card Processing Upgrade Required Before October 2026

Apr 27, 2026 | Uncategorized | 0 comments

If you’re using integrated credit card processing with NCR Counterpoint, there’s an important change on the horizon that requires your attention.

NCR is officially retiring its current credit card gateway, NCR Secure Pay, in October 2026 and replacing it with a new platform: NCR Voyix Connect. This transition will affect any business that uses integrated card readers, and action will be required to avoid disruption.

What’s Changing?

The current gateway, NCR Secure Pay, will be phased out and replaced by NCR Voyix Connect, NCR’s next-generation payment platform. This new solution is designed to deliver:

  • Enhanced payment security
  • Expanded functionality
  • Compatibility with newer payment devices
  • A more modern, scalable processing environment

Once Secure Pay is retired, systems that have not been upgraded will no longer be able to process integrated credit card transactions.

What You Need to Do

To support NCR Voyix Connect, your system must be running NCR Counterpoint version 8.6.5 or higher. If you’re currently on an older version, you’ll need to upgrade to a newer version before the October 2026 deadline. This isn’t just a recommended update; it’s necessary to maintain your ability to process credit cards through your POS.

Why You Should Act Now

October 2026 may seem far away, but this transition affects every NCR Counterpoint user simultaneously. That means:

  • Upgrade schedules will fill up quickly
  • Waiting could limit your available time slots
  • Last-minute upgrades increase the risk of downtime or delays

Planning ahead ensures:

  • A smoother transition
  • Minimal disruption to your business
  • Flexibility in scheduling your upgrade
